Event Details
As part of the West Chicago Artist-in-Residency Program Christopher Lucero, creator of Calaveras of Chicago, has been interviewing and portraying West Chicago residents in his stylistic interpretation of their lives through designed makeup in the calavera style. Christopher's work dives deep into other peoples heritages, beliefs, lives, cultures, backgrounds, experiences, stories, and history so that we may learn more about the world through different perspectives. 16 of Lucero's calavera portraits will be on display at the West Chicago Public Library October 13 through November 2nd with an artist reception to take place on Wednesday October 15 at 7pm in the Adult Services Area. The West Chicago Artist-in-Residency Program is a project of the West Chicago City Museum and People Made Visible.
